Pick-a-Present: FREEBIE!

Happy Thursday!

The hubs-to-be was home sick today and all I wanted to do was stay home and take care of him... but alas.... I trudged off to work with my kiddos. We have report cards due soon and I have a gazillion assessments I still need to give... EEEEKKK!

I did come home early a finish a little project I had been working on.

My Pick-a-Present freebie:
Graphics: Ashley Hughes

This is a quick n' easy board game in which students have to pick a card, read it aloud, and determine if the word has a short vowel sound or a long vowel sound. Your kiddos will race to the finish line and try to avoid being stuffed by the stocking card!!! Mwuahahaha.... when a student picks the stocking card, they can move their partner all the way back to the beginning!

Before I go (the boy is whining...)
DeAnne over at First Grade and Fabulous is having a linky that is making me salivate for a midnight snack! I had to link up with one of my FAVE holiday recipes:

PUMPKIN CHEESECAKE!!!!!
The first cheesecake I ever made was for Thanksgiving 2 years ago... and I was hooked! I was already hooked on eating cheesecake, but after baking that deliciousness in a spring-form pan, I was hooked on baking cheesecakes. A cheesecake is not easy to make, buttttt... it is oh so worth the time when you get to take your first bite!
You can't go wrong with a little Paula Dean in your life!
Here is her creamy, fall-flavored Pumpkin Cheesecake!

What's Cookin' Good Lookin'?! My First Linky!

Okay so every Monday, I sit at my computer, and look at 4th Grade Folics' Made It Mondays. My mouth drops open as I stare in awe (and drool) at all the amazing crafty things you are all able to make! I am not crafty. In the least. I can doodle... I am somewhat computer savvy.... but "crafting" try as I might... is a major downfall in my femininity - Sorry!

What I can do... is cook! As long as I have a recipe lol :) I enjoy cooking and the eating part isn't so bad either. So for my FIRST EVER linky, I want to see what YOU can cook! I love perusing Pinterest and cooking blogs and trying them out at home. Give it a whirl... take some pics and lemme see what you've got!

Grab my button so others can link up :)

{Thanks to the ever-amazing Scrappin' Doodles for the clipart}

Here is mine:
Now, I am not from New Orleans (or N'awlins- I thoroughly enjoy saying that) and I don't actually know what consists of a "Jambalaya" but the rice I use for this dish is called Jambalaya mix... so there we have it. This dish is now Shrimp n' Asparagus Jambalaya!

I found this recipe a lonnnggg time ago from a Taste of Home cookbook and it is sooo easy and Parkster and I just love it!

4 ingredients... yeah... that's it... FOUR! I mean for realz... anyone can do this.
Here it is:

Make it - Bake it - Sew it - Grow it!

I am linking up with Run! Miss Nelson's Got the Camera because I made something (also you can win an awesome Erin Condren gift certificate)!
I made two things actually... but I'm not so sure the first one really counts because all I did was add delicious blueberries to a pre-made waffle mix... but oh well, that's why I added my second recipe too!
{#1}: Blueberry Belgian Waffles:

I happened to find an absurd amount of fresh blueberries at the grocery store and I thought I'd make some waffles for Sunday breakfast!

{#2}: Ground Turkey Stuffed Peppers

This is one of our favorite dinner meals! Even though the recipe makes 8, Parks favorite part is the meat stuffing so I only make 4 peppers and the rest of the stuffing goes in a big bowl ready for re-heatin' n eatin'

and of course... they go best with a delish Blue Moon!

Now go link up with Miss Nelson!
